The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen was created from one simple belief:

Everyone deserves a seat at the table.

​

For years, The Gracefull Table has been about more than food. Through catering, family meals, pop-ups, and serving our community, we have seen firsthand how a meal can bring comfort, connection, dignity, and hope.

​

Today, that belief has grown into The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Garland, Texas.

​

Our Mission

As the cost of living continues to rise, many of our neighbors are quietly struggling — seniors on fixed incomes, families facing hardship, individuals in recovery, people experiencing homelessness, college students stretching every dollar, and others simply walking through a difficult season.

​

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen exists to meet people with compassion, not judgment.

​

Our mission is to create welcoming dining experiences where people can enjoy nourishing, thoughtfully prepared meals while being treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.

 

Our long-term vision is a permanent pay-what-you-can community restaurant in Garland where guests who can pay full price may do so, those who can give more can pay it forward, those who can contribute a little can give what they can, and those who cannot pay will still have a seat at the table.

 

No one will be singled out. No one will be embarrassed. No one will have to explain their situation.

 

We’re Not Waiting for the Restaurant to Start Serving

 

The permanent restaurant is our dream, but the mission has already begun.

We are building a community of volunteers, sponsors, businesses, churches, nonprofit organizations, and neighbors who believe Garland can take care of Garland.

Our first restaurant-style Community Kitchen pop-up is scheduled for November 1, 2026, at The Salvation Army in Garland.

Instead of a traditional soup-kitchen experience, our guests will be welcomed into a restaurant-style environment. They will be seated at tables, offered menu choices, have their orders taken, and be served by volunteers.

Because dignity isn't an extra part of the meal.

It is part of the mission.

​

This first service is only the beginning. Our goal is to continue hosting community dining experiences while we learn, grow, build partnerships, and work toward opening a permanent home for The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen.

More Than a Meal

​

We believe food has the power to bring people together who might otherwise never share the same table.

The person serving today may need a seat tomorrow.

The person receiving a meal today may become a volunteer later.

A business may sponsor a table. A gardener may grow vegetables for us. A baker may donate their talents. A church may open a door. A neighbor may give $10. Someone else may simply tell a friend.

Everyone has something they can bring to the table.

This is about more than feeding people.

It is about neighbors caring for neighbors.

It is about restoring dignity.

It is about building relationships.

It is about creating a community where people feel seen, welcomed, and valued.

And someday, it will be a permanent restaurant in Garland where those things happen every single day.
